Walmart’s stock gets a $24 billion boost after retailer announces subscription service

Walmart+ won’t launch for two weeks, but Wall Street is reacting positively to the retailer’s forthcoming membership program and its perks. Now, investors and industry watchers will wait to see if customers sign up. The company’s shares closed up more than 6% on Tuesday.  Earlier in the day Walmart’s stock hit a new 52-week high. Its market cap rose to $418 billion. Walmart said Tuesday that the subscription service will debut nationwide Sept. 15. It will cost $98 a year or $12.95 a month. Walmart Black Friday 2020: New in-store experience, more online deals

Walmart is gearing up for the busy holiday shopping season with big plans ahead. On Wednesday, the retail giant announced a reinvented Black Friday savings events that will include huge deals as well as a safer, more convenient shopping experience beginning online Nov. 4. Sales will continue throughout the month of November through three different events. Three key areas of Walmart's "Black Friday Deals for Days" incorporate earlier discounts that will be different online and in-store, the option to pick up online Black Friday orders through contact-free curbside pickup and upgraded safety protocols.

A lot of the time when lists like this are put together, the emphasis is usually placed on small business blogs that talk about how to run and manage a business. Pandemic has forever changed online shopping, UN-backed survey reveals

The study examined how the global crisis has impacted the way people use e-commerce and other digital tools, with more than half of respondents reporting they now shop online more frequently.  “The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the shift towards a more digital world.
